Robert H. Fernandez

Robert H. Fernandez was born in Berkeley, grew up in Alameda and now makes his home in San Leandro. After attending the Academy of Art and the Fashion Institute in San Francisco, he received his Associates degree in Liberal Arts from the College of Alameda. Robert joined the BART family in 1981 as a cash handler where he served as CHB Chief Steward from 1982 to 1985. Robert received his Mechanic Certificate from the Regional Occupational Center in Hayward in 1986 and has since worked as a Transit Vehicle Mechanic at Richmond, and now Hayward shops.

Robert has served on the Safety Committee for OHY from 2001–2004 and currently is actively involved with the Hazardous Materials Committee since 2001. Robert joined the Investment Plans Committee in July 2006 as the SEIU alternate member and in November 2006 enrolled in the InFRE certification program. Robert enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and working towards securing a solid retirement.
